Displacement error

Post by draconic » Sun Jan 22, 2012 5:11 am

Hi to all,

I'd like to ask is there something wrong with the displacement map that I'm using.
I used displacement with other materials and this is the first time I'm using it with tiles.
Here's my screen shot and the render.also I included the material maps.

Displacement can be right..but We can't see the displacement options!
Try making a group aout of your floor, enter the group, right-click and select "edit active mesh", then set a higher number of subdivisions (should be set to 0 or 1 at the moment).

Thanks for your reply Pibuz. In my scene subdivisions are set to 10
I tried higher values like 20 and nothing changed.
I think there's something wrong with my texture jpg. Because other textures work fine

..some time ago (maybe a couple of years..) it happened to me to encounter some errors like this when trying to use additional maps which were only black and white. The problem, back then, was just that: Indigo couldn't recognize (or properly calculate) the black-white texture, it needed a scale of greys. Since then, I don't know if the guys have changed something, or if your problem could be a small bug still to be solved.
Let's wait for some programmer's answer!

Programmers are at work, so it must be me

This issue you are mentioning concerned bump mapping if I remember correctly, Pibuz.

Perhaps are ther two UV sets used ? It looks like the two parameters are just not lining up. In all cases I will be of no help concerning SU.
