SkIndigo 2.4.8

Post by Whaat » Fri Aug 13, 2010 5:23 pm

This is a release candidate for 2.4 stable. Please test and provide feedback especially for the new features.

You must have Indigo 2.4.8 or greater installed for it to work.

#Version 2.4.8

#Added: ability to save render settings to current scene
#Fixed: G spectrum negative values in spectrum picker
#Changed: using fastbox splat filter
#Changed: rounding of bump values to 5 decimal places
#Added: ability to download and load materials automatically from online material database.
#Fixed: spectrum picker spinner boxes now have different ranges of values depending on the parameter

Find out what's new in SkIndigo 2.4.X.
SkIndigo 2.4.8 Windows Installer
SkIndigo 2.4.8 Zip Archive (Mac)

Please spend some time testing the new feature to save render settings to your SketchUp scenes. This is a cool feature that can really enhance your workflow. Let me know what you think.

Also, let me know if automatic IGM loading from the material database works for you.

Enjoy!

Was the exporting of Indigo_Sphere not working an issue of the Skindigo plugin or the beta Indigo binary? I can't remember...

If you could add to your post Whaat - Requires the newest version of Indigo also. The new Metatag is incompatible with older versions of Indigo.

I haven't tested spheres for a while. If they are currently broken, I will fix for next release. Thanks.

Hi Whaat!
The "Apply to scene" feature really rocks! and no bugs so far. GREAT WORK!

I'm now encountering a small problem: not a bug, only something I'm not able to do..
I have a blend material (basically black and white), which mixes a plaster texture with a brick map. The aim is to create a plastered wall with some cracks which show the bricks underneath.

If I use the default SU uv mapping the brick map is really huge, and the bricks are way too big. I just want to resize the brick map so that the bricks will render smaller.

Say that the default plaster map size is ok, and that I correctly mapped the blend texture. What have I to do next? Sorry to bother Whaat...

Maybe go through the SkIndgo textures tutorial again? :)

I have been able to solve my problem!!!
..complex YV mapping has never been my favourite thing..

Thank you Whaat!

Btw, in the previous case, if I had to scale the plaster map too, I would have to give the plaster albedo texture the UV 2, then position the map and save it, and that's all right? I can't assign another 1, otherwise it will take the bricks map UV mapping isn't it?

Another request Whaat...
I know I am bothering like a mosquito, but I really need this..

I ask for a mat preview scene scaled in meters, so that the bump and displace results in the mat preview are similar to the ones I'll get in the render.. It could replace some other mat preview preset I think, since I guess anyone uses "custom" anymore, for example...

I could probably add this in the future. How big should the preview model be? 1 meter diameter?

When I want displacement previews, I usually just select the face of the material and then render selection only. Then, you know for sure what the end result will look like.

One meter should be fine. After all, you just have to scale the model and make a different texture for the background. It should not be a long work.. Hope I don't load you too much..

At the moment, to test displ and bump I do the same thing, but I realized I was not using the mat preview anymore, and that is a pity to me!

Spheres work fine for me. Create a component and name the definition 'IndigoSphere'.
