The idea of a morning rendering is cool, and the image atm looks...er..fresh!
36 hours, bidirMTL with 0,7 mgpixels and 2 layers from the sun and sky. I tried night view too but with 6 layers and after 47 hours it looks grainy. I replaced the sss mat on the lanterns and blinds with defuse transmitter and it went from 215 to 280k samples

The idea of a "stolen" photo from outside is very smart! Mauybe you could handle your scene as if nobody in the house knew someone is taking a photo from the outside, so you should put some chaos inside (objects not in the right place, baybe a person in motion blur..)..

I'll do some normal shots as well. That one's not a winner...

Hi, this is my first render with Indigo and i'm very exited to join this competition...
So, if "Chairs, lamps, tables, or any other detail in the furnishing may be changed", i can entry with this image?
I just move the sofa and chairs to other wall and added a lamp and a big art painted...
Thanks

Hi Adriano, see fused's answer here: http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... =1#p116998

It is recommended not to use a pure white or highly saturated colour with Indigo. Consider 80% of their value as a maximum. The measured white of a sheet of paper is a gray about 83%.

Welcome to the forum.

Not sure if I'm gonna get it finished in time...

Been all day long in my favorite coffee bar, spending time very very usefull..
Tomorrow I'll be there again, all day to finish it...

The one who recognizes this beast gets a coffee on me (I want the company and model name..)

And if there is someone who knows where to find this machine in Antwerp gets 2 coffees on me, in the respective bar..
Cheers,

Hey guys,
Thought I'd upload my WIP for some comments.... looking for some advice on the realism angle! I'm also interested in what camera setting you guys use for your renders? I tend to go with Advantix-100... Pibuz, if you get this message, where do you get your HDR environment map from? I'd also appreciate your advice on planting - you mentioned something about OBJs? I use sketchup like you but not sure on where to begin with OBJs!!!??? How does it work?
Cheers
Noel

Hi Noel! I find your image to have a "happy" feel, if I can say. Maybe that comes from the use of several materials you used to map the main surfaces of your model. I kinda think they're a little too many at the moment, I really think you should make a choice and go with the bricks, or the wooden panels, or something else. The idea of having a bar on the right is cool and original, having the bed right aside that doesn't. I mean: who the hell would do that in real life? If you think that this is more of a lounge space, then model things to be that, don't use the good models you have in your HD to fill the room (that's a danger I always face when I deal with scenes to fill up with furniture).

Also, I think you should work a little more on your mats, add some spec maps to give them more life, in particolar to the floor (which is VERY important for an interior rendering, in my opinion).

For plants and HiPoly models I usually work with external references, drawsn from commercial bundles mainly. You can have a look to the following link to understand the procedure

Hi Pibuz,

Thanks for your quick reply and comments. The good thing about having the bed near the bar is you can fall into it if the drinking gets heavy....

I'll have a look at these links now - cheers!

Could you give me a little more info on your following comment:
"Also, I think you should work a little more on your mats, add some spec maps to give them more life"

What do you mean by spec maps?? and what kinds of improvements do you feel they need?

PS. Loved your internal shot, congrats :)
