Hi Ana,

Patience! :) I've been working as well!! :)

At this moment I designed part of the interface so you can put values for Indigo renderer and those are correctly exported on my tests! :)

Now I am trying to get the Background and Light values from the scene so you can asign a Light as a Sun and export that one. And I found i need to do a bunch of functions for Matrix Math calculations! :(

It is due I am using LScript instead of CPP so it would be portable to MAC straight away! :)

Best regards,
David

Hi Ana,

I managed to create the interface and export all the rendering settings, but I am still working on the lightning export and camera export.

After that I will need to work on the mesh and materials export, that I think would be the thing that would take me most time to develop.

So sorry for going slow, but do the exporter it is not easy! :(

But be sure I am still working on it.

Best regards,
David

Hi Ana,

I am now fighting with a stupid bug on LScript that it is not allowing me to get access to the surfaces on the objects! :(

Really frustrated with it! :(

I will keep posting if I discover something.

Hi, I think that if you post the problem in the newtek forum http://www.newtek.com/forums/ anyone can help to resolve this question.

In this forum there are many people with lw script kwnoledge.

Bye for now.

Hi,

I needed to stop it. There is a severe bug with the server() command in LScript, I sent a bug report to Newtek and didn't got any news about it yet

The problem is I wanted to write several fake shaders so add Indigo materials to LightWave Objects were really easy. But later I cannot get access to those shaders from the Master LScript.

SO I am going to halt it until they resolve it, that I hope would be on the next 9.x cycle.

Once I got that solved I promise I will continue with it,
I was having a lot of fun and frustration writing it! :)

Best regards,
David

Hi, I can see thats there is one soluction for this problem, you can save in layout your entire scene with objects, cameras, backgrounds, emitters, lights.... and the exporter can export all scene without materials.

After, from modeler I make these two scripts. In these scripts I show you how can I get any surfaces values of the objects. Only thing that the modeler exporter has to make is open the xml generate by layout exporter and complete with the materials.

Here is the scripts.

Hi all, finally I decided to try to make the exporter for lw. Two users of these forum (jay3d and somnis) tried to make the exporter but we found problems with the script. At the moment I'm learning lw script and I try to solve the problems that I'm finding with this work. The things that I don't know, I try to solve in the forums asking to others users. Here is a screenshot of the actual state.

Here is the actual script for indigo exporter for lightwave. I can't spend any time now and I have some issues with the exporter. I hope that anyone can continue my script to finish the exporter.

Regards.
