Hmmm.... Nobody...

I thought I was pretty clever when I bought Modo and Indigo. These seem to be two pieces of software that have a lot in common - youthful but with loads of potential, cheap for what you get and worth investing in for what they'll become. I'm only really interested (for now) in developing my skills in modelling and still renders (no animation), and I believe these two make for a killer combo in that area.

If Modo and Indigo could somehow be married through an exporter, I would be the happiest guy alive. I would lie in bed at night grinning from ear to ear. :D I can still get them to talk by inserting Blender/Blendigo into the workflow but it's obviously not the same... (I can't afford any of the other packages that do have exporters unfortunately...)

So quite a few people viewed this post but nobody answered. Is this because
- Modo is not really used yet by the Indigo community and so there is no real demand or
- It isn't possible or is too technically intractable to write an exporter for a reason I don't know yet?

I am a relative noob around these parts, so please go easy if it's something eye wateringly obvious...
I also would be interested to know who else on the Indigo forums uses Modo.

Cheers and thanks !

Luxology hasn't released a full SDK. Shame, because I'd love to have an exporter for Modo as well.

Hmmm... Anybody know why ?

I guess I am going to have to start an SDK/Indigo thread over at the Luxology forums. The native renderer is pretty good, but unbiased Indigo is really the only way to go for me.

The way to go, they'll have to answer this !

I was very excited when nucleus was announced years ago, but... as Stinkie said :(

Modo should support LUA, Python and PERL scripting.

What does that mean in Humanese? 8)

That it could be possible to make some sort of and exporter without the SDK. Blender exporter is also made in python, as far as I know. But I've never used Modo, so I'm just speculating here.

Take a look at this:

http://www.maxwellrender.com/version2/workflow.html

It looks like Maxwell are going to support Modo out of the box in V2. So somehow it has got to be possible. They also claim that Modo is one of the most requested new plugins for Maxwell....

I'm jealous... :(
