has this copy been updated at all or is this the same release as last time with the password removed?

Should be pretty much the same I think.
I have been working on a completely new Solidworks add in for commercial use. I hope to get you guys doing some beta testing on of these days.

good to hear. i'd be happy to help. i'm sure this would be a winner since SW current render options (PW) really suck.

Given the date of the last post and the general lack of interest I'd take a wild guess that there has been no progress on it.

I believe your currently best and by no means a bad option is to export STL from SW and then import into Blender and render from there. Just make sure you really are done with your geometry in SW, so whatever detail you want to have in your final render, all beveling and filleting done.

Once you imported your object, just don't forget to enter editmode (tab), select all (a), remove doubles (w), convert tris to quads (alt + j), apply edgesplit-modifier.
Probably there is a script for it, please tell me if you find one.
