About the Indigo Palette..

Post by CTZn » Fri Oct 23, 2009 7:25 am

The Indigo Palette is the very MtI interface under all its aspects.

I consider its code being around a version 1.0, meaning that it is functional but still has room for improvement. Because of that functional state though, developements on the Palette are now of a lower priority, and that was about time as far as I'm concerned :)

We can use that thread to discuss what improvements could happen in the future for the Indigo Palette.

Gzavye made some propositions wich I report hereby:
  • - use the right mouse button for the main and settings marking menus instead of the middle mouse button

    - Merge 'Renderer' and 'Launch' panels together

    - Merge Camera, Tonemapping and Environement panels together, in an attempt to regroup all camera related items.

    - Missing threads management, indeed I forgot about that since I do rely on the various exec priorities MtI is offering.

Yeah I must enroll more testers, if not users. Things are coming along nicely though, see:

I've added a caption for bump and displacement mapping, before that the Palette was not involved into their creation.

To do so you can now either:

- drag a texture onto the control
- type the (existing) texture name
- or click the mapping button to create a new texture.

before creation of displacement:

after:

You can disconnect the texture and return to the previous stage by holding the middle mouse button over this bar:

there is a menu beneath (whenever the asterisk is used in a label, it warns about an available marking menu).

The update is coming soon.
