Do not use Maya shaders. I do not think blinn is supported.

what MtI version is this ? I couldn't reproduce it on Maya 2009 and 2011.

As SreckoM said the blinn shader is not supported, this may happen again later. But, SreckoM, I insist that the lambert and phong shaders are optimum with MtI since they provide viewport feedback. With layeredShader and IndigoShader, this makes four nodes in total.

I got the camera and objects motion blur not to break dynamic simulations down, but I didn't settle yet with a method for particles motion blur.

maya 2011, I'll use indigoshader from now on :)

I assigned blinn, and in the palette used the hidden menu thingy to select the material/object and palette closed.

Yeah as discussed earlier, I confirm it's easier to use lambert for diffuse, indigoShader for transparent materials only, and phong for all the rest.

Btw the maya page needs an update for the (broken) download link and a remaining "Mayigo"

Test 8d ?

Obviously there is something wrong, you should bump into a managed error. Could you see the editor in the following configuration already ? It pops on various events.

Oh no I don't get that window.
Also I don't have an 'Indigo editor', I have an 'Indigo Palette'.
I have test 8d..
Is there a way to flush mti and start from scratch? I still have ganky old icons too so I guess it might not be installed correctly..

I have not been carefull enough while changing files name, you probably ended with too many mel files in the scripts folder.

Can you please compare the archive's script folder content with your local user/documents/Maya/scripts folder ? Just delete any mti_*.mel that is not in the archive and restart Maya.

It is also possible that the start on install thingy is not strong enough. I tend to believe that it is safer to reboot Maya after installing MtI.

Sorry about the mismatch, I'll look into this.

I just renamed my documents/maya folder and reinstalled Mti. Now I have the Indigo Editor and it works as it should :)

The broken link I was talking about is the "Mti beta" one near the box.
The one that people are more likely to hit first instead of the "getting started" one

Thanks Lemo, it's fixed now.

Thank you $oup, I appreciate what you did.

edit: The installer should bet smarter soon and point out obsolete or duplicate scripts.

I can remove it if you feel stuck for the matter, I was wondering about your reaction. It's off but you have some nice shots already, that's why :)

Nice, it's there again :)

It was stupid from me not to ask first !

Should upload test 8e within 24h, with presumably the following changes:

- Smooth Mesh Preview now activates subdivisions + smoothing
  • | - Smooth Mesh Preview subdivisions settings are discarded atm.

- scalar displacement
  • | - comes in 2 flavour: displacementShader alone or with an uniform spectrum connected

- rewrote motion blur data acquisition so to preserve dynamic simulations during export
  • | - note that particles moBlur is not implemented yet

- basic viewport feedback for the indigoShader
  • | - Color, transparency. Tweaking indigoShaders while in textured mode seems to lag Maya 2009

and fixed a presumed bug where a texture used twice in a material was output only once in the IGS.

It doesn't make a test 9 because some of the new changes need a confirmation.

Also if you were forced to stop with MtI because the installer failed or MtI resulted broken while using the latest beta, please let me know. As told earlier the installer will look for conflicting files soon-ish.
