strange triangels after export

Post by carsten_fokuspunkt » Fri Feb 29, 2008 6:55 am

Hello,

i have to create a house and cut the holes for the windows with a boole-function. it was the easiest way, but i can imagine that this is not the best way, because of of the strange geometry after this boole :(

by the way, after exporting the mesh i can see some darker trianges. this effect is connected with to position of the camera to this wall. if i look more from the side, this triangels are getting darker.

i optimized this mesh, recalcuted the normals and and and.... i think, the normals are the problem.

does anybody have a hint or trick?

cinema 10, indigo 1.0.6 and cindigo 1.0.6

thanks for everything!!!!!!!!!

moin carsten... welcome to the Forum :)

The best trick, is to keep your mesh clean dude

Your triangles issue may be some double polys on the same spot.
The best way to get help is & always will be to give use a screenshot or render that shows the issue, or even better a snipped from your C4D scene that contains the problem :)

I think you have false global scale multipier settings in cindigo,
try 0.1 , 0.01 or 0.001 . Sometimes it helps !

thanks for the quick help.

i did a fast test and changes the global scale multplicator from 1 to 0.01 AND everything is fine :)

but next question: what are the ather effects changing this multiplicator? i noticed same little differences in contrast and details...these changes look very good to me :)

@ZomB: only a clean mesh is a good mesh. i had to switch from blender to cinema and now i used some very comfortable functions i sometimes missed in blender :( but i think i have to build a lot of things by hand like before.

i attached 2 very rough and early renders with messy textures showing the differences.

thanks a lot!

if you run on cm it makes sense to put .01 since m is the indigo default size.
