Re: Indigo for Cinema 4D 4.0.43.2
@contegufo Can it be so simple that the added subdivs make the object curve a little more. Because of smoothing the geometry?
Re: Indigo for Cinema 4D 4.0.43.2
A ultra old issue with Indigos subdiv if your basemesh isn't uniformly subdivided (back from 2009): http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... 387#p90387
Since then some enhancement happened, but it never get fixed...

That's how subdiv works. Don't expect great UVs from a subdiv method like catmull clark.

I can live with this answer.OnoSendai wrote:That's how subdiv works. Don't expect great UVs from a subdiv method like catmull clark.

Works nice in c4d with catmull clark!OnoSendai wrote:That's how subdiv works. Don't expect great UVs from a subdiv method like catmull clark.

The problem persists even invoking HyperNURBS command of C4D (catmul-clark) evidently connected to the UV mapping.
I understand that it is an old problem.

Catmull clark will produce weird artifacts around some extraordinary vertices, both in terms of the surface and UVs.Zom-B wrote:Works nice in c4d with catmull clark!OnoSendai wrote:That's how subdiv works. Don't expect great UVs from a subdiv method like catmull clark.

Also I don't think there is a problem there. if you think there is, please a file a simple replicating scene.Zom-B wrote:A ultra old issue with Indigos subdiv if your basemesh isn't uniformly subdivided (back from 2009): http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... 387#p90387
