Alpha channel of material from R14 to Indigo get a bug?

Post by butaixianran » Fri Jan 02, 2015 4:38 pm

Alpha channel of material from C4D R14 to Indigo won't work.

I find that indigo plugin create 2 materials for a material with alpha in C4D, let's say they are: materialX and materialX_BlendA. The materialX is a blend type material which invokes materialX_BlendA(type: Phong).

The problem is:
To make alpha channel works in Indigo, the materialX (type: blend) should be assigned to mesh. But when I click Render with Indigo in c4d plugin, the materialX_BlendA is assigned to C4D and leave materialX unused.

So the alpha won't work in Indigo unless I re-assign these materials.

Is that a bug of Indigo for C4D plugin, or it's something wrong of C4D, or even my own bad??

Thanks.

Have you tried the "Step Blend" option? And the order of which material is the base does matter. I wish I could help more, but I'm having a little bit of a problem understanding it.

Also, another thing you coulf try is to assign the same texture to both material_x and material_x Alpha or whatever. Because the texture is already mapped to the mesh, the coordinates will still be applied to both materials.
