Can you test if its get detected for the 32bit version of C4D?!
If you also have a older C4D installation/Demo, please doublecheck if that issue is showing up there too.

Changing the font settings made the GPU appear?

Weird. Will have a look at this.

I have the same problem with Cindigo 3.4.18.

My configuration:
Win 7 x64
Intel Core i7-2600K
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580

And the GeForce drivers I tested:
310.90, 306.97, 306.23, 301.42 and 296.10

In these C4D versions (didn't try older ones) I get no GPU selection at all:
R12 (64 bit),
R13 (64 bit),
R14 (32 & 64 bit)

And with the 32 bit versions of R12 and R13 I get the following strange selection:

Okay, I found something.

It seems it depends on the number of (C++) plugins you installed in C4D.

After I removed one arbitrary plugin (as long as it's a C++ one, it seems this restriction doesn't affect coffee and python) "GeForce GTX 580 CUDA" was back and after I removed a second one, "GeForce GTX 580 OpenCL" was back either.

I had problems with too many plugins installed at the same time in C4D before, in the way that some of the plugins simply had been ignored and didn't show up at all. But as far as I remember that was in the 32 bit version of C4D only and I thought the 64 bit version didn't had that restriction.

And I never recognized before, that it affected just a single feature/parameter of another plugin.
I thought that the registration (the linking, C++ plugins in C4D are in fact dynamic link librarys) at startup of the concerned plugins is just prevented for any interference reason.

@gkuro:
How many plugins do you have installed and can you please check if it helps when you remove some of them from the C4Ds plugins folder?

Hi, Phoenix. i have installed many many plugins. You are absolutely right
I deleted some plugins - working! I tried to determine which plugin may fail, but it seems it depends on the number of plug-ins.

@ fused
sorry, this error persists after changing the font

Would it be possible that someone sends me an archive containing all the plugins you have installed or a list at least?

Cheers!

The problem simply is that too many plugins are loaded. I found the root of this problem and reported the issue to Maxon.

There unfortunately is nothing I can do as it is a problem with most, if not all, c4d plugins.

For now, you will have to remove a few plugins.

what amount of plugins are we roughly talking about to reach this critical point?

73 in R12 on my machine, could depend on the system, the plugins and their dependencies and maybe other things.
