GPU selection

Post by Ilay » Sun Aug 12, 2012 8:18 pm

Hello
I have such issues:
1.
i buy cheap asus gtx 550 ti, new dev and customer drivers(4.2 - 301) were made me mad(bsod at everything)
so i roll back to v.275.33... all nice.
But in indigo standalone i see gpu selection between my old gtx 240 and new 550... there is not selection(list gui is empty) in internal build of cindigo. User prefs were cleared in user dir.

2. And another, with my old gtx240, when even i haven't check gpu mode in c4d's console write that gpu card is used. Does it normal?
I'm sorry for my bad English

Hi Ilay,

1) that's curious. Indigo for C4D uses pretty much uses the same detection code (with the minor difference that it does not detect CPU devices) and should give the same results. Which C4D version are you using?

2) Yes, that is normal. It just debug output that I have removed for the next release.

Hello Yves
I'm wondering too ... only shows that vcard in list with drivers v.4.2-3XX
At store support said that card is normal...they showed that nvidia is wrong in their development. (and don't want ati instead of nv)
I will ask my friend to dig in nv drivers(he is kernel developer)...maybe will fix it

C4d v.12 and v.13(latest)

Upd.
So i found my lamer fail, i don't remove old version of PerfSDK(i used it several times)...
it conflicts with new drivers(dev's and customer)
