We're working on opensourcing the non-core parts of our business - we'll do a proper announcement later when we have more done - but for now - you can access the newly relicenced Indigo Scene Format Technical Reference at github.com:

http://indigorenderer.github.com/

The source code to this page is available at:

http://github.com/indigorenderer/indigo ... github.com

Feel free to clone the repository, so you can host it locally, fix typos, incorporate it into your own work, or send us pull requests.

Yes, that's the way to go! I really appreciate you efforts to release this kind of information/documentation. Everyone interested in writing converters, creating interfaces etc. will benefit. And so Indigo Renderer will benefit too.

Thanks rendigo.

We have a bunch more code to release as well - Nick is the author of a number of clever project like sleepy (a profiler) and some more. I'd also like to release a sample ISL implementation so that other physically based renderers can use it - although I can't promise anything.
