Indigo for Revit

Post by benn » Wed Apr 07, 2010 6:57 pm

We're going to being releasing the beta version of Indigo for Revit later this week. If you're a Revit user we'd be glad to have you onboard for our beta testing period.

Any Revit users out there?

Another excuse to start learning Revit again. I've got it installed, just haven't really used it for anything (too busy with other work) but if I get a spare moment, I'd love to give it a try!

I'm revit(rac) user. I glad to test add-in(exporter).

I had to look Revit up to see what it was... which is embarrassing as I do architectural illustration. Indigo for Arkey anyone? More happy if you made Indigo for Carrara or Hexagon though!

So we are going to be seeing a beta of 2.4 soon?

Irrelevant to the current post, really, as he's only saying they're developing a Revit plugin, but it IS something I'd like to see too. At least a beta version or two...

Actually, more relevant than you think it is.

I deleted a few posts here. Not in news and announcements, guys....

Yup we're working on getting 2.4 out as soon as possible. What we've been working on lately:

* User interface fixups for Indigo 2.4
* Building improved network rendering for 2.4. You can now run Indigo as a service and it will only fire up when a computer is idle.
* Creating the Revit exporter and working with our Revit beta users
* Creating site licencing code for our large corporate customers
* Automating our internal processes (building, support, licencing)
* GPU acceleration of Indigo. This is working internally and will be in beta before the end of May.

So we've been moving along. It'll be great to get the Revit plugin out to our beta users and get your feedback. It's a pretty cool package.

It's those UI improvements that really have me interested.

Hey

Revit seems to be more and more used in offices here, and i think i will try to take a look at it, and when i will be able to do it, i will be able to give a little feedback, but that will take several months i think.

Good news anyway! thanks for the new release

I'd like to try the revit plugin. I'm just a student now, but that's the only software I know top down, I just found indigo a few days ago and tried to export a current architectural project to 3ds max from revit then to indigo, but failed miserably, I have too many elements to change materials, plus I have 0 experience with 3ds.

Awesome. I just installed it, tried it, works great. Very easy to use. However we can't use the Indigo Materials? Looking forward to playing around more with it.

Yep, someone did! Great, once I get through some junk, I'll give it a spin.
