Hey all!

Following the 2.2 release, the roadmap for the following Indigo releases is as follows:

Indigo 2.4
* User-interface improvements

And while Ben and I work on 2.4, Nick has plenty of tme to work on Indigo 2.6 core features:

Indigo 2.6
* Volumetric shaders (clouds, smoke etc...)
* GPU acceleration
* Floating network licence support

Sounds great :)
Realy looking forward to this, seams like it's time to get a new GPU :P

Thanks but what happend to 2.3 and 2.5? I hope you're not to fast going over
to version 3.0 as I can see this won't be a free upgrade to 2.x users.*fg*

Historically it's been about 6 months between minor releases (2.0 to 2.2 etc..).
So if we incremented from 2.0, to 2.1, to 2.2, it would be something like 5 years before we got to 3.0. So we decided to increment directly from 2.2 to 2.4 etc..

Historically it's been about 6 months between minor releases
..so we have to wait one year to get GPU acceleration?

Any chance to get this Subdiv bug fixed in 2010?!

It makes using subdiv USELESS for textured meshes!

Well, no, actually work is being done on GPU acceleration currently, and it will be released when done.

Good work needs some time, so no pushing guys ;-)

If you compare Dades progress in Luxrenderer GPU porting. from the first steps in openCL to the situation now it took 1 (skilled) coder to get so much done in only 3 months!

I'm really not this much interested in a working Indigo GPU accelerated beta version before Nvidia Fermi hits the market ;-)

You know Zom-B, there's something about Fermi... heard elsewhere.

Yes, I know this article ;-)

If you read it carefully you'll see that the most points are pro gpgpu.
A high price and reduced number of Shader units will be uncomfortable,
but anyway it can be a nice gpgpu board.

So goegeous!
Let s be patient, better have it released later, but better, than prematurely, and weak :)

Good luck! good job!
(and by the way, so proud to have my lifetime license!)
