Hi guys,

is it wanted not to have anymore the settings panel as part of the GUI? or is it a bug?

Take care and thanks!

Riccardo

nice!
the progress bar is so cool when we launch big size models! the rest is like too technical for me but i trust you :D !
good job to all!!
i have a newbie wuestion : what does it change to have exponential display? (except that the more it renders the more it take time to display) does it have some speed rendering effects or somthing ?
i m curious ;p

Djegoo: Displaying the framebuffer does take some time, specially if you are using post process diffraction. If you don't, then the time used to display is much shorter (hardly one second on screen resolution renders).

Still, that time is not dedicated to image convergence and saving it is a plus, even if in most situations the final difference will not be perceptible (barely a few minutes lost). You can test that performance gain by rendering the same scene with the console for comparison.

Again, post-process diffraction is totally justifying that feature.

OK, that s great, well, even if we only win something like 10-15 minutes on a 6hours render, i m still interested! time is convergence!

thanks a lot for this explanation! i was waondering if the machine was still rendering during the time it displayed the aperture diffraction effect. now i understand!

I'm not quite sure what you mean here Riccardo.
The renderer settings panel is now detachable - it can be disconnected from the main GUI window and dragged around, or it can be 'docked' back on the main GUI window.
