Like the new GUI extras.
Its fun at first detaching/moving those panels :-)
Love the zoom ability and the on-screen display saying what zoom% your at.
Becoming a very, very useful tool :-)
Nice update. Installed and seems to run fine - no problems yet.
I haven't checked out the renderer as your list doesn't say there are any changes to it.

The widgets are really nice.. :)
Also, what happened to the emoticons?
EDIT : The buttons look a bit too big when you dock the material list pane on the top.. They're a bit too long..

Also, something I thought of at work today...
The aspect ratio would remain constant.. Dragging would increase it in increments of 10 or whatever people agree on is a good number. :)

First impressions are very good for the updated material editor. Functionality has been greatly improved. I like the system of setting absorption. Can you share how you calculate the coefficients from the distance setting?
(It would still be nice to be able to set the coefficients directly as an option)
Nice job overall!

a couple bugs found so far:
- you are still allowing the user to select shader or texture for base emission
- I undocked and closed the 'material/media' window and can't get it back

1) Yes, but at least it doesn't crash now
2) That's fixed for new version
