Re: Indigo 2.2.3, with Mat Editor beta 2
If the Material editor is running and rendering and if I then run a Indigo render from Blendigo it will sometimes wait at the updating image stage till I stop the Material Editor rendering.
There can be other wierdness when both are running as well but nothing consistent.
Could just be my setup though :-)
any chance of a 64bit version?

@Doug
There is no need for a 64 bit version yet. Do you max out your
RAM while using the material editor? I don't think so. ;o))

64 bit indigo is quite useful though.

@remus
That's true, but since there is no change to the core yet you can use Indigo 2.2.1. ;)

I might - you should see the size of my texture maps! :^)psor wrote:@Doug

No I ask for it because having to install Indigo 32bit each time and then reinstall my 64 bit version is gonna get real annoying real quick.
Might be better if Ono offer the Material Editor as a seperate download.
Re: Indigo 2.2.3, with Mat Editor beta 2
I feel ya! As a workaround you can open up the setup .exe with an archiver like 7zip
and extract the material editor without installing it. I dunno if it will work with the 64bit
version cause the editor needs 'QtNetwork4.dll' the 'config' directory and some files in
the 'data' directory. Another way would be to install into another directory ...
So good luck while waiting for Nick to set something up. ;o))

Next version will either have a 64 bit build, or the mat editor will be a separate download.

Sorry guys: a little request.
Could it be possible to add a check in the GUI to add a realtime "render info overlay" string?

Something wierd I noticed.. The material preview can actual be brighter with some materials than others.. Something about the materials absorbing energy?
Anyhow, this is probabaly really obvious but I can't find where you set the color of specular materials.. Shouldn't there be a diffuse channel?

Shouldn't the material editor have a "metal" type? - confused.jpg (99.97 KiB) Viewed 2979 times

The colour of specular materials is set by clicking on the medium (bottom left of GUI), and setting the absorption colour. Not sure about the brighter preview in some cases.neo0. wrote:Something wierd I noticed.. The material preview can actual be brighter with some materials than others.. Where can we adjust the gain (what the slider does in sketchup)?
Re: Indigo 2.2.3, with Mat Editor beta 2
Neo: in your image from your post, when using a phong material, make sure to set the exponent to a good number. Right now it defaults to zero (which should be fixed).
