Indigo Renderer Forum

The first experiments with what came to be called Indigo started back in 2004. The name Indigo was given to the raytracer in 2006.
And now, in 2009, Indigo is all grown up, and is going commercial as version 2.0.

To reward early commercial adopters, we are offering half price licences for a limited time. Also, the first one hundred licences sold will not only be half price, but come with free lifetime upgrades to Indigo 3, 4, and beyond.

Indigo has always had an active and vibrant community of coders, artists, and experimenters. I appreciate all the discussion, ideas and suggestions from the community members, and hope that they will stay around even when Indigo is a commercial product.

We also understand that the exporters are a crucial part of the workflow and overall Indigo experience. We will be working with the exporter authors to make sure that high quality exporters are available for all supported 3D modellers.

Ono, with all due respect, is that possible to read the license agreement before purchase? By the way, the beta forum still remains closed.

Hi Satva,
If you download and install the 2.0.4 version, you can have a look at license.txt, also it shows it as the first thing in the installer.

I'm still getting the 'You do not have the required permissions' message. I've tried logging out but to no avail.

Interestingly, I can see it when not logged in at all, but not when logged in.

I spot NSIS installer system... good choice! :)
But... include an uninstaller!

Yeah, NSIS seems great so far.
We will have an uninstaller soon, it requires extra special testing - we don't want to be deleting important files by accident

Oh indeed that does not need ANY testing ^^
Just delete the files you installed, the rendered files will be left untouched :)
And Ono... can you please add an on/off switch for the SSE2 mode in the inifile?
You would reach the guys without no SSE2 that way aswell :)

And pleeeeease fix the "keep updating on paused render" bug :(

Okay, I did that, and read the license thoroughly. Sadly, there is absolutely nothing that covers "lifetime upgrades to Indigo 3, 4, and beyond". You see, license agreement is a contract between the software vendor and its customers. If you as a vendor make any claims regarding customers' rights under this agreement, they [b]must[/b] be clearly reflected in the agreement itself. In the context of how things had turned out recently, I think any potential customer should be concerned with such nit-picking: who knows how things could turn out next? (Yep, I have a lawyering track record, so I know what I'm talking about.)

Is the current Sketchup plugin supporting Indigo 2?
Is there a significant quality/speed improvement over the earlier free versions?

Firstly congrats on a big step.

Just completed the purchase and got an error at the end saying purchase couldn't be completed. This was after I had been through the Paypal payment.

However I have recieved 2 emails, one the reciept of payment from Paypal and the other from Glare Technologies thanking me for my purchase so I am assuming it all went through OK.

Yes, you're right,
We'll review and update the licence agreement to make it a bit more explicit, over the next few days.

how about node licenses? or i have missed something..

Holy f**k, is 2.0 realy that much faster?
Or is it only the interface tricking me into thinking so? :P
