Indigo 1.1.8
ono there seems to be an issue with 'phong' not liking 'albedo' for a texture
AFAIK all the other mat types accept 'albedo' and 'phong' is happy with the rest of the texture types, just not albedo
--------
Edit: ok play time 95% done of 1.1.8 but not uv wraps stuff which I dont know enough about
attach is a very young and ugly render of glowing titanium (.nk) turbine...
---------
Edit2: indeed why it is was more of a mess than intended was cos I didnt realise I had some bugs in there - squashed those now - here is a better render
still very cool layer stuff ono

hi ono, i still getting this error:
no subdivision anywhere in the scene.. in 1.1.7 was no problem..
Code: Select all
Error: IndigoDriverExcep: ObjectExcep: Tried to do a view-dependent subdivision on an instanced mesh. (subdivide_pixel_threshold > 0.0)
... and you always will keep getting this error, because the view depended subdivision doesn't work for instances! set it to 0 and your instances should work fine. Each instance of a mesh is positioned somewhere else in the 3D space so for each one the view depended subdivision should be calculated different....carbon wrote:hi ono, i still getting this error:

Phong exponent is now a wavelength-independent material parameter. The manual is wrong on this oneBig Fan wrote:hooray! thank you - a very useful post -peasants can be just adoreable sometimes no executions this week..dont expect promotion though
ok now here is my next question but useless ono can get off his butt and answer this one:
what happened to exponent maps?
there is no mention of these in the latest pdf
albedo, bump, displacement, emission...(exponent?)
This is a bug that i'll fix for the next version.carbon wrote:hi ono, i still getting this error:

How do we do a dirty work around? And what casuses the problem? I was just about to mess around with shaders but this kinda stopped meOnoSendai wrote:This is a bug that i'll fix for the next version.carbon wrote:hi ono, i still getting this error:

so i removed instances and got this:

I think there are some new shader bugs. I tried to use this shader from your 'shader tests' thread and I got an error saying that indigo could not find function 'eval'.
I'll run some more tests later to see if this was an isolated case or if it happens every time.
Code: Select all
def eval(vec3 pos) real :
mul(
fbm(
mul(getTexCoords(0), 100.0),
10
),
0.001
)
Zorro is coming !
Ok I think this is the moment for:
