The test releases continue...
http://www.indigorenderer.com/montecarl ... _test5.zip
The main new thing is the burn parameter for reinhard tone mapping. It's similar to post_scale, but looks a bit nicer.
burn=1.0 => no burn out.
burn=0.5 => some burn out
burn=0.1 => lots of burn out
etc...
e.g.:
Code: Select all
<tonemapping>
<reinhard>
<pre_scale>1.0</pre_scale>
<post_scale>2.0</post_scale>
<burn>0.3</burn>
</reinhard>
</tonemapping>
Changelog:
v0.6 test 5
* added optional 'burn' parameter to Reinhard tone mapping
* changed default burn to 0.8
* fixed precision issue that was causing some fireflies in path tracing mode

I'm doing a test right now.
the strange thing is that I defined a ti.nk material, and it's being rendered as brown... wasn't nk settings supposed to override the color and specular settings?
I've set burn to 0.1, but the image looks perfectly normal to me... I have to wait a bit more maybe (just 5 mins now)?

Awsome!
It seems to be working perfectly!

Has anyone else experienced this? .6t1 out-of-the-box (freshly decompressed from original zip, running the ior_test scene) is almost exactly twice as fast as test 5 out-of-the-box. Am I missing something?
