Code: Select all

<halt_time>-1</halt_time>
<halt_samples_per_pixel>-1</halt_samples_per_pixel>
Ya I did as there's nothing about the halt conditions in the Render Guide I thought it would be fine that way :s

€dit: Additionally the email says my job has been completed but treats it as an animation and says there might be a problem 'cause of the low nuber of frames (only one 'cause it's a still)
Your project "star" is now finished.

Render time charged: star

However, the RANCH has detected that the size of the frames archive is very small.
It is likely that the frames were not correctly rendered for one of the following reasons:
- The scenes could not be rendered because they generate errors. Please verify that you can render them on your system.
- Some required files (textures and/or other elements) are missing. Please check your .vui archive.

cindigo should export a relative path if you use the response function file in the indigo dir you specified in cindigo. but maybe thats just in my dev version...

I have added a function which removes the halt_time -1 to the automated parser and relaunched previous projects. Let's hope it stops the thing :)

Ok, since the path is absolute, it's not portable. It should be a relative path. (relative to the base indigo directory)

I could also confirm that actually <display_period> and for sure <image_save_period> are used too.
(display period for my sss_test was 5min, and on the online waiting line after 5min the first time the SPP where visible!!)

I also got a eMail like Spider does... maybe this is related to <width> & <height> defined in the igs too... I choosed another resolution on the job creation form!!

Also there are no FTP downloading Information also if the result is "strange" it should be possible to get a download for the user to see himself!

My first result of a hardcore sss_test, the renderfarm "only" archived 1699 SPP in 15 minutes for a 768x1024.

The statue is 40cm high and uses the following material:

Code: Select all

    <medium>
        <name>Medsss</name>
        <precedence>10</precedence>
        <basic>
            <ior>1.45000</ior>
            <cauchy_b_coeff>0.00000</cauchy_b_coeff>
            <absorption_coefficient_spectrum>
                <rgb>
                    <rgb>0.216 0.216 0.216</rgb>
                    <gamma>1</gamma>
                </rgb>
            </absorption_coefficient_spectrum>
            <subsurface_scattering>
                <scattering_coefficient_spectrum>
                    <rgb>
                        <rgb>490.196 349.02 192.157</rgb>
                        <gamma>1</gamma>
                    </rgb>
                </scattering_coefficient_spectrum>
                <phase_function>
                    <uniform />
                </phase_function>
            </subsurface_scattering>
        </basic>
    </medium>
    <material>
        <name>sss</name>
        <specular>
            <internal_medium_name>Medsss</internal_medium_name>
            <transparent>true</transparent>
        </specular>
    </material>
I try another test with 480x640!

SSS seems to be some heavy time stopper using such settings :/

BTW: the after render denoising seems to do a realy great job, anyway the attached image is orginal output compressed to jpg.

Ah well, well done, I've been tricked :)

This is a good surprise !

ZomB: I'm looking forward for a full convergence !!! If I'm correct on my at-a-glance situation analysis, you'd better set an higher max_change, in order to have a wider sampling zone (= less patches, more homogeneity). Actually I'm confused, I hope that's not the other way around but I think I told right :?

Sorry, I would not have read as I'm not planning to be a consumer (nothing personal, I just have plenty of time for my renders), I should not have asked ;)

I wrongly set my project to 1024x1024 but it is right on pigm (renamed vui), and I cannot change it now, will it pick the correct data from Pigm or will I get a distorted image?

You will get a distorted image :P
I accidently switched the sizes (x/y) on my last render :P
Just resized it afterwards and it was fine ;)

pixie, it's your lucky day :wink: Since your project is still in the waiting list we can change it. What is the good definition for your project?
