The code on that old version already was quite good, for this scene, actually, I'd say^^ colours where wrong, fireflies where huge, but caustics already where very good :D

Still no 64-luck with wine and linux

Code: Select all

user@localhost-64 ~/Documents/indigo_x64_v09_test7 $ wine indigo.exe
Trying to load PE image for unsupported architecture (AMD-64)
Trying to load PE image for unsupported architecture (AMD-64)
wine: could not load
L"Z:\\home\\user\\Documents\\indigo_x64_v09_test7\\indigo.exe":
Fehlerhaftes EXE-Format f#r

32-bit starts fine :lol:

yeah...
this kind of bug might be solved via either extreme burn value (like 20, which will cause a very grey pic), or simply, linear tonemapping :D

wellie well, letting a couple renders go overnight it definitely shows improvement! One went from 2292 samps/sec to 3088 samps/sec and a preview pass went from 47500 to 60000 samps/sec... the text scrawling thing is weird, but I don't care. It's rendering faster and looks gorgeous. :-)

The text thing could be related to the number of threads running.

./indigo.exe
Trying to load PE image for unsupported architecture (AMD-64)

wine: could not load L"Z:\\mnt\\windowsFAT32\\indigo_x64_v09_test7\\indigo.exe": Bad EXE format for

Thanks for the update, Ono.

@everyone using wine:

I haven't managed to get *any* x64 Indigo running under wine either - this release is no exception.

@heavily tessellated:

the text thing i have noticed before, with past versions of Indigo - doesn't seem to affect performance. (in fact, I've noticed the text thing in real windows, and not just wine)
