Nice work,
Love the speed increases from 3.6.

I am having a couple issues:

1. on my ubuntu 10.04 slaves when I run indigo or indigo_console from 3.8.16 I receive the following:
"
XXX@XXX:~$ '/home/XXX/IndigoRenderer_x64_v3.8.16/indigo'
/home/XXX/IndigoRenderer_x64_v3.8.16/indigo: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.15' not found (required by /home/XXX/IndigoRenderer_x64_v3.8.16/indigo)
/home/XXX/IndigoRenderer_x64_v3.8.16/indigo: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found (required by /home/XXX/IndigoRenderer_x64_v3.8.16/indigo)
/home/XXX/IndigoRenderer_x64_v3.8.16/indigo: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.15' not found (required by /home/XXX/IndigoRenderer_x64_v3.8.16/indigo)
"
This issue was identical when 3.8.15 was tried.

2. (I am not sure if this is a 3.8.16 issue or a Sketchup 2015 64-bit issue) when I open a 2014 file that I have been rendering with 3.6.26 it seems to switch a number of my diffuse materials to phong and a number of my phong materials to diffuse (but not all), it is something I can manually handle, so low priority.

Thanks,
My customers love your magic

Aaron

Crash seems to be fixed but my scene still doesnt seem to want to clear up after over 20k spp. I am using this material for the lenses

I don't think that's a clearing up issue, it's a property of the material shader. There's some random noise varying the thickness of the coating, and so the surface color changes. If you look in the shader code you'll see this.

Im not seeing that color changes (well not such anyway), im at almost 45k spp. and there is a wierd checker pattern not only on the lenses, but also on the background as well. Using gpu acceleration. In addition, the nose piece (like the part between the lenses) appears more flat than it really is. In su, it's curved. I suspect this may have something with indigo's subdivision. Is there any way to turn it off or atleast tone it down.

well there are a number of things going on with your scene. none of the issues are due to Indigo's speed. main thing is, your background environment map is slowing down convergence without adding anything to the scene lighting. I deleted the environment map from your background settings and went back to regular cpu rendering, bidir. the image cleared up in a matter of minutes.

the material you have for the lenses does indeed use a noise-based shader for the specular color, and since it's based on the UV mapping of your object you are getting particularly weird patterns.

but this is all off-topic to the thread. you really need to focus on getting some of the fundamentals down. if you wanted to start some other topic related to lighting and material issues, they could be addressed more appropriately there.

Also crashed when i tried to download this material off the db within indigo
http://www.indigorenderer.com/materials/materials/1019

And tried to add it to the current scene.. Crashed too when i removed the top few lines of the shader code from aforementioned material

It's not converging correctly still. I rendered for an hour or so and everything else looks great but there is still some wierd checkboard nastiness going on with the lenses, so i opted to mess around with blend materials :D

Not really a bug but kind of inconsistent that specular reflection is found under metals in skindigo but in phong in indigo. Just thought ide point that out

EDIT : locked up when trying to add multi colored glass material mid render. Seems like alot of aspects of indigo are unstable..

You might need to get a more recent Ubuntu - 12.04 should work.

Cool, Ubuntu 12.04 solved my network slave problem.

Thanks
