A student of mine has win vista installed and has problems running the installer. Is it a known issue?

yep, Vista is known as a problem child, I don't know about the installer though

Where is supersampling in 3.8.5?
how can I eliminate the white dots on my pictures?

At the same spot as in 3.8.4 and before! on the right side of the GUI in the "imaging" tab
