Hi Jeff,
This is an Indigo problem, and I've just fixed it for the next release.
Thanks for the bug report!

I'm getting a weird error with an older scene, saying that a boolean in my render settings is incorrect, that it must be wither 'true' or 'false' but doesn't specify which. is there an xml changes reference for this release?

these are my current settings in the igs, it opens and renders in the previous version of Indigo:

Code: Select all

This is a whitespace issue when XML parsing. Have fixed for next release.

Sorry if I'm posting this into the wrong section since Cindigo is 3.6 and maybe not directly connected to the 3.8 updates?

Since I've installed 3.8.1 I have heavy freezing issues inside C4D. At first assumed it's related to high res textures, but in the end wasn't.

Basically what happens is:
If I create a new scene with Indigo materials etc. all is fine.
Then after reopening the saved scene again one core is under constant load and C4D is unresponsive and it takes around 10-15 seconds to select an object for example. It unfreezes for like 5 seconds to do things, then freezes again for 15 seconds etc.

This doesn't happen with saved native C4D scenes. Any help would be awesome!

Indigo GUI version is not used in any way by Cindigo for C4D internal work, it only gets started if you export to it.
Cindigo uses a Indigo SDK DLL to do all Indigo related stuff inside C4D!

You told that this isn't related to HiRez textures, but try this anyway:

In your messy scene, set for all materials preview quality to none!
By this no material Previews get created and. If this helps, we could say that preview rendering is fault. If not... well, excluding a error source is better then nothing ^^

Maybe also try to delete and reinstall latest Cindigo build...

I am getting some noise issues that seem to be related to media absorption. the attached jpeg demonstrates the effect - the noise just gets worse as the render progresses and the medium almost starts to have a glow effect which doesn't seem right. I went back through the change logs and noticed that step size has been replaced by "max_extinction_coeff" - which seems to be set to 1.0 by default. what are proper values for that setting? I have a feeling it is related to this, but so far changing that setting is not improving anything.

Hi FakeShamus,
This issue is probably fixed already.
We'll try and get a new build out soon.
