Indigo Renderer 3.4.6

Post by fused » Sat Aug 25, 2012 6:02 am

This is a Beta release.
If you spot any bugs or problems, please make a post about them in this thread.
Thanks!

With this release we greatly improved the speed and reduced the memory usage of post-process aperture diffraction. It now uses much less memory than before, especially for large super-sampling factors.

Changelog:
3.4.6
* Fixed crash in aperture image loading.
* Aperture image can now be any image format (not only png).
* Image gamma now matters for aperture image.
* Fixed an issue when exporting from Blendigo when there are duplicate material names.
* Greatly improved speed and reduced mem usage of post-pro A.D.
* Fixed -v printing version twice.
* Indigo console can now render .pigs files.
* Added check for /NoExporters option to windows installers (which will unselect all exporter installers by default) so the silent (/S) installation can work without interruption.

3.4.5
* Fixed issue with orthographic camera causing fireflies in some cases.
* Fixed orthographic camera bug where stuff behind the camera would show up on the image.
* Fixed non-post-pro aperture diffraction with bidir.
* Fixed memory leak in the sections planes object clipping.
* Fixed the light brightness bug when realtime changing materials/models (lights would be too bright).
* Added control for Model nodes, allowing editing of emission scales.
* Changed shortcut for reload scene to CTRL+R (CMD+R on mac).
* Fixed material picking for orthographic camera.
* When pressing the open button, the scene is now closed after a scene was selected. If no scene was selected (open dialog closed/canceled), the old scene will remain open.
* Fixed reset buttons for tonemapping images.
* Fixed a bug where the whitepoint reset wouldn't work when only X was changed.
* Fixed problem with UI camera resetting stored sensor values for other camera type when camera moved from outside the camera controls.
* Many other internal improvements.

<save_images_on_close> doesn't work with AD.
I mean really, how hard it could be to fix the thing? Can't you just save the image that's on screen, to png?

[edit]
AD stuff doesn't seem to work with console?

[edit2]
AD doesn't get saved to final png at all. Even when halt spp is reached. It's probably the reason why console doesn't seem to work.

Equally we could ask you to fix Maxigo, but that's obviously pushing it. :/

console freezes on error?
Use illegal .nk file and console never closes?

Thank you for reporting bugs but please keep in mind that this a beta release. We have changed a lot of things internally and some bugs are not as easy to fix as they seem.

Is this a question or a report?

It happens for me so it's a bug report. (3.4.4 works fine)
I used a question mark because maybe anyone else can confirm?

<save_images_on_close> has not been working correctly for a long long time. All my appeals have been ignored so far. :)

No problem. Thanks for reporting.

Still now AD, tho. That's a bit more complicated.

Thanks for this new release. No more error message at loading !

Well, I have to convert all my textures, because I am used to use bmp each time transparency is not required (png if transparency required), and indigo seem to not support bmp...

I have to set also again all my materials because my whole scene is displayed in clay like mode.

Blender materials are not converted at all, not even into simple diffuse color, if materials are not properly set specially for indigo.

It crashes after a few seconds using IES lights.
