I got Cuda and OpenCL running on my GTX260, though I had to install 270.61. Is there an error line in the Render Log before sampling starts Pibuz ? I'm not sure I should talk about this, really, PM lycium rather.Pibuz wrote:I'm sad to report that the new release doesn't work with GPU enabled on my nVidia GTX480.
All drivers updated properly: CUDA 4.0 and latest drivers for the video card.
Still get a C++ runtime error when the image has to be updated.

Hi Meelis, pixie wrote:My Nvidia gtx560 adds roughly as much as my 2600k. I first though that it would be adding 2x as much, but I was comparing different modes.Meelis wrote:Has anybody tested how much speedup there is with GPU?
Maybe with some fogy dusty roome scene.
we are getting 2-3x speedup over CPU only on our machines in the offices, depending on the scene.

please post an official bench...fused wrote:Hi Meelis, pixie wrote:My Nvidia gtx560 adds roughly as much as my 2600k. I first though that it would be adding 2x as much, but I was comparing different modes.Meelis wrote:Has anybody tested how much speedup there is with GPU?

Don't need an official bench. I'd like an official release. Beat, Alpha, whatever ;-)

Hi kdarius,
we initially sent out the GPU beta to Windows users with CUDA cards, since that's what's working now. We're currently working on producing Mac and Linux builds with CUDA support, after which we'll work on getting OpenCL working on those platforms.
Sorry for the delay guys!

Re: Indigo Renderer 3.0 preview video
Hi all
Is GPU ram going to be an issue as I am eyeing up an gtx 460 2gb Palit model. As with Iray the whole scene needs to fit o the cards memory, will this be the same for indigo?
Cheers.

Hi, only the scene geometry will need to fit in the GPU memory (no textures etc.) so 2GB ought to go quite far.3form wrote:Hi all

You should rather get a GTX 5xx series, however!

Please tell us the numbers with pure PT without the GPU for comparison!CoolColJ wrote:This is the highest number I've gotten so far on my system

Re: Indigo Renderer 3.0 preview video
One thing I've noticed is that despite having higher numbers the quality seems worse in complex materials...Zom-B wrote:Please tell us the numbers with pure PT without the GPU for comparison!CoolColJ wrote:This is the highest number I've gotten so far on my system

Can you provide any pictures, or even better scene files, pls? Thanks!pixie wrote:One thing I've noticed is that despite having higher numbers the quality seems worse in complex materials...Zom-B wrote:Please tell us the numbers with pure PT without the GPU for comparison!CoolColJ wrote:This is the highest number I've gotten so far on my system

CPU only - is a bit faster compared to V2 The material picker is cool :)
And being able to move around with existing scenes is very nice
Now we just need MLT :/
