i think the bed would be a bit inconfortable for the back, besides i would like to see it a little more "shaped" you know what i mean, maybe some curves somewhere or arbritrary shapes...

what i would do is apply the subsurf set to 1 (just to conserve the curvy shape, but not making too much divisions) and then work on the mesh, selecting a face where the eye will be and deleting it, (just the face), then all you have to do is move the vertices wherever you want to achieve the hole s...

i think curves arent fully supported (correct me anyone if im wrong) why dont you try converting your curve to mesh but keeping the original curves so whenever you want can modify the bezier curves

and if i try changing the uv names in 1.1.5, when i preview it got the "UV set with index 0 was exposed..." error
