Re: Intel 8 core CPU
my understanding is most of the hackintosh problems come from non existant drivers and people trying to put it on machines without SSE 3 (which OSX uses). Have a hackintosh in a VM though :P EDIT: Oh, and OpenFirmware is a *$&!. An OLD ppc mac with a 300mhz chip with openfirmware 1.x is the only thi...

Re: Intel 8 core CPU
I don't understand Apple's politics in graphic cards either, but this has been the point for ages. :-) Its actually ATI & Nvidia playing games, google for hacking PC gpus to run on macs, usually it is just re soldering certain points - otherwise they are the exact same. response @ someone Apple act...

Re: Some help installing Indigo 64 bit Linux
Yes you can get it installed without root, it just looks a little ugly (the process, not the result).
Do you have access to a recent c++ compiler on your Linux machine? (gcc4.x)?
What Distro are you running?

Idea for new users
Add into the indigo program a dropdown menu for autoamted installing of the various plugins (blender, cinema 4d, and so on). Just searches for the program folder and downloads and drops the files in for you, makes life easier and less search - and also makes life easier with the "what version do i u...

I am very excited. The dream is finally a reality. My Intuos4 arrived today and I just pulled the trigger on the new Mac Pro. Due to custom setup I should have the new machine in about 2 weeks. Earlier if I'm lucky. Quick Summary: 2 x 2.66 Nehalem 6 x 2GB Ram 1 x ATI 4870 1 x 30" ACD Monitor 1 x 64...

Re: What going to happen to us?
Thanks guys. It is true, that would be a very good present. I'll ask them and see what kind of response I can get from them. I would want to get into the field of engineering when I get older and even though this isn't about engineering, I can make it look good. Thanks for the advice. More then you...

Re: Megapixel limit?
@eman thats a good idea - but steganography is a bit rude - having someone track all your images I think? I wouldn't like it if I knew indigo did that. :( also - we don't want to go through our lives emailing people angry letters saying 'YOU PAY NOW'. You dont have to :P only if pixar or someone bi...
