Glass takes a little while to get the hang of. Still sounds to me like a normals problem. Could you post a picture or two of your problem?

Nope, no displacement yet, but I plan on drawing a displacement map soon, before I add to the material db. This version is simply phong with an albedo map.

Thanks everyone. :)

Pixie, I can upload the material when I get home from work today. It's nothing special though. I just pulled a jpg from cgtextures.com and made it... erm... tileable.

Cheesecake

I've started a project which will force me to learn texturing. I was inspired by BbB's pastry project, and decided to try to make cheesecake. I'm working on the cake itself right now. I plan to add toppings (strawberries or chocolate), a cake slicer, and put it on some type of dish. I really don't h...

I moved the sun higher (earlier in the day). Notice that some of the sun hits the floor, which scatters the light, bringing daylight into the room. I turned the exponent down a little on the hardwood to increase the scatter (i think that's what happens). I also increased your meshlight power to arou...

I'll look at it this afternoon when I get back home from work and have access to Blender. Another thing to check would be the position of your sunlamp. I don't use sunlight for lighting very often, so I could be wrong about this, but I believe that the position of the lamp tells Indigo what time of ...

I have no idea what's going on here. Could you try zipping and posting your scene?

Turn the power of the mesh emitter back down. Does the sunlight come back? If so, you just need to find the right power value for your meshlight.

One more question: Do the windows have thickness? They shouldn't, they should be planes set as exit portals

Flip the normals on your exit portals.

Thanks for the feedback Ono. More absorption coming up...

Here's my first attempt at rock candy. It's too thick, but I think I achieved the right look. There are a few black areas , most likely due to normals problems.

Some more simple renders. I'm slowing working on a "Candy Shelf in an Old Country Store" scene. I probably won't use M&M's, since I don't see them as "Old Fashioned" candy. I'm thinking rock candy, peppermint sticks... any other suggestions? What might you find in an old country store?
