Re: Tone mapping with HDRI
This question frequently comes up. It is indeed very questionable from a usability point of view having to type a number like 100000000 in order to be able to see anything in your scene, but AFAIK it's the only way to do it.

Re: Pavoda Rendering Thread
Wow, these renders are super, especially those with a few patches of sunlight coming in. You've improved a whole lot, and so has Indigo by the looks of it.

Re: Light Leaks
Pixie is right. It’s a precision problem with GPU rendering that can be worked around with above mentioned methods.

Fantastic. By the way, did you try the built in denoiser? Maybe that can help to clean up some of that last noise in these clouds.

Re: AMD Radeon VII Mac Mini 2018 or Radeon Pro 575X iMac
Hi Oscar, I went with the iMac configuration with Radeon 580x (midrange) but went with an eGPU for it with a Vega 64. I got the enclosure, just waiting for the GPU to test it. Not sure if Indigo will detect this as a dual GPU setup or if I have to select one. Hope this solution works nicely, thanks...

Re: Better render settings for this object/material
Would have suggested blasting it in GPU mode, but you probably need a lot of path depth.
I'm not sure you need MLT for a scene like this, as there's no particularly hard caustics to solve due to the fairly flat lighting. Tried BiDir without MLT?

Re: AMD Radeon VII Mac Mini 2018 or Radeon Pro 575X iMac
I can only refer to the Benchmark database for indications of what cards perform well on Mac. Me, I'm using an ancient Radeon HD 7970, though if I was rendering more I'd definitely upgrade.

Re: AMD Radeon VII Mac Mini 2018 or Radeon Pro 575X iMac
For rendering, I would definitely recommend an eGPU config over those mid-range graphics crammed into the tight form factor of an iMac. I use an eGPU with my Macbook Pro with Indigo and I'm quite happy with it.

I agree that it'd be nice to know when a 2.8 build may be out.

Re: MacBook Pro 2018 I9
@Oscar J I've had the same concern when rendering on my now over 10 year old iMac. While that for obvious reasons never included the GPU it did get hot for long periods of time. But it still works. Granted, its not a notebook! Cool, and yeah - those old iMacs are just so solid. I wasn't so lucky wi...

Re: MacBook Pro 2018 I9
Should be a good setup if you, like me, need a MBP to carry around. I use a 2015 15" i7 MBP with an eGPU (AMD HD 7970, an ancient card by now). I don't render much, so haven't really needed upgrading my graphics, but even with this GPU I see speedups of around 5 - 10X over my CPU and internal AMD gr...

Re: Oscar's rendering thread
Some renders after a year of radio silence. I'm studying a car design master in Germany these days, meaning lots of sketching and just the occasional renders of the finished product. This is a spare time projects I've been fiddling with for a while.
