yes, the aa is not too good, especially across the top of the helmet. I did only use suampling factor 1, i was lazy and just wanted a quick render..It doesn't look like a indigo render? Why, because its not a render of an interior of a building..lol.. I do know what you mean, really I could have got...

a simple little render

Nothing too complicated, just trying to increase my modelling skills really. I was going along quite well with the space suit until I got to the fingers. I will finish modelling it one day, but for now I am a bit stumped as to how to continue modelling it...Anyway I did a little render of it and I t...

Thats very nice, I have played around a bit myself with doing a few renders of victoria 4. Can I ask what the skin material is, is it a simple diffuse material? I have found a phong with low exponent blended with a uniform sss material (red) works quite well. Hope to see some more renders from you.

Hey thanks Kram1032, glad you liked it. I don't have cauchy enabled, and its not really chromatic dispersion that is appearing in those renders. It looks like it sure, but what is really happening is that you are seeing the image of my candle flame being distorted and projected onto the surface. The...

I finally got around to doing a decent sized render of this scene. I let it go for nearly 70 hours, got up to 9500 samples. But the candles just don't seem to want clear up. This render is sort of finished. I am not calling it finished completley. I think I might eventually go back to it and model a...

No, thats whats I find really weird about it. I didn't have cauchy enabled, ie it was set at zero. I have only ever used cauchy once for a diamond render I did and it slowed down the render so much that I won't use it again, yes I have a slow pc. I am going to try and recreate the image again. Unfor...

The rainbow caustics are strange I thought, I don't have cauchy enabled. And its a very basic glass. Just a transparent material, with rgb of 0.8 0.8 0.8. It was a total fluke that I got the right angle ect. I didn't think that dispersion like that wasn't possibly without having cauchy enabled. I'm ...

Thanks guys, yes I don't like my soup material. I was actually trying for tomato soup. Its actually just a plane with phong/ null blend material. I guess I am going to have to try a sss material, the candles are already killing my render times though. A decent soup material will have to be high abso...

dining table

Hi, A small scene I have been playing with. Its coming out quite nice, again as usual for me the modelling is all quite basic. I would appreciate any suggestions, in particular I would like to know what everyone thinks of the soup. Believable? I have a few changes to make before I go for a final ren...

to bbb: Not as many as I would have thought actually, I just checked. 111149 faces. Thats in the beer and foam, including the bubbles. I think. Not sure if I am reading it right. To other Blender users, how do you find the number of polys? Is it the number up the top right of the screen ie "Fa:111149"

here is a wire screen of my workspace with the bubbles selected so you can see them. And another version of the image after post processing in violet, I messed with the tone mapping a bit and added some bloom

um, I wasn't expecting that reaction.. Thanks a lot everyone. I should explain firstly that the hand is not mine, its off a comercial model ( daz studios victoria 4 and genesis textures), there is no way I could model a hand as nice as that. The skin is a blend of a textured phong and a uniform red ...
