Here's a wireframe comparison of the low and high poly meshes (note: the high poly mesh is in 2 parts, the rings aren't in the same object as the "barrel" itself):

Re: Indigo Renderer and Indigo RT 3.0.12
Ah, thanks for the info, ctzn! I will try that! There's one more thing.. Not very major, but I noticed some aliasing (or jaggies I guess) artifacts in the early stage of a render. Bug by some small chance? I doubt it's a bug, aliasing is usually an artifact found in games due to how the sampling is...

So as to not clutter the simple rendering's thread with my stuff as I'll probably start quite a few smaller projects (game props most likely), I'll start this thread. First up, Plaststeel Cylinder (from the KotoR games yes). Reference (taken from http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Plasteel): http://img....

From the reference I got the top cylinder is supposed to be sharp edged But I did bevel the top ring!
Hopefully making a decent texture won't be too hard

Re: Indigo Renderer and Indigo RT 3.0.14
The nVidia update application tells me my drivers are up to date. Yet my GTX 550 Ti is not recognized even though it's a more recent model than the 9800 GT I used to have, which Indigo did recognize back then. Thoughts? That's very strange :? Do other CUDA applications work? The experimental builds...

O.o can i see the high-poly/low-poly wireframe when you have them? I'm trying to learn to make low poly models as well.Stromberg wrote:Just a simple render, of a highpoly I am doing for a game object

Actually I forgot to ask...
@Godzilla: in how many "chunks" did you model the gun? and how many polys are in there?

*Activating raging jealousy*
*Switching to immense praise*
Those are some really REALLY great shots! I'm especially fond of the first one and the architectural design of the building in the second one.
