Thanks for the cool update, Whaat! :D When I hit preview, I get this error message: "SceneLoadExcep: failed to open doc from path 'previews/IMPsphere.igs'. Failed to open file." When I use bump maps, this appears: "SceneLoadExcep: failed to load texture ' c:users/ myname /desktop/indigo_v1.0.1/TX_de...

Yeah ... same user friendly approach. I'm new to Indigo, but thanks to SkIndigo, it's actually the first render app since Podium I enjoy using.

"I suppose they would be equivalent to a Roughness Map in Maxwell or Fryrender."

Ah, good! I've just ordered the Arroway dvd-roms, so I was wondering about this.

Thanks for the info!

Here I am again. Going thru Whaat's tuts. Very informative stuff. Yet: another question.

Here goes: exponent maps, are those the same thing as specular maps?

Last one, I promise. ;)

"it only affects the geometry behind it". So, the portal should be, basically, between the viewer and the glass (if glass is used)?

Thans alot for the info, Whaat. So the exit portal doesn't affect the geometry around the glass? That's handy.

Some questions

I gathered glass needs to have a thickness. A window, in essence, needs to be a box, and the white faces need to point outwards. But, there's a 'thin glass' preset in the exporter. Am I right in thinking that this can be used to apply 'glass' to a single pane? And if so, how should the white side be...

Kram1032 wrote:it's nice, but you should change your car material... a good way usually is to blend two identical phongs but with different exponents.
What'll this do, Kram? (I cannot try it right now, as I am at the office, but I am curious.)

Thanks for the tip, but this was just a test render. The scene is from Whaat's tuts.

JUst posted it because I was impressed by the result/time.

Blending materials will be for a later stage. ;) Still learning.

EDIT: I'll keep what you said in mind, though. Might come in handy. ;)

I had no more crashes. Everythings works just fine. Did the car scene from the tut, and Indigo delivered a nice render of it in about 3 hours (on an octo core, admittedly). I'm pretty sure Maxwell would take longer. I am quite impressed.

Discouraged? Oh no. Far from it. I think both Indigo and your plugin look like excellent tools. Indigo has been rendering the couch scene for approximately 8 hours now (I'm too lazy to go and check), without crashing. Last time I took a peek, the render was looking really good. Seems like Indigo is ...

Biebel, you sure get around. Whaat, as I said on PPB (I thought I'd continue the discussion here), I've installed both Indigo and SkIndigo on my Mac. I'm still having issues: Indigo keeps going boink. This is the pop-up I get: "indigo.exe has stopped working" (Windows -always informative). St...
