How to: Beam of light

I've been trying to do a beam of light with a cylinder, one mesh light inside of it, yet it all keeps black... am I doing something wrong?Or does it take lot of time to render?

no, sry :) i dont have access to a mac... :-( That's too bad... I have a cindigo exporter for mac but it is too old (0.8.2) when compared with the new funcionalities that is... as for the pc version does it has any dependencies,.net framework, openEXR... I have a vanilla PC and Cinema doesn't load ...
