Very cool look and idea! It would look really cool if the bulbs were vertical & the camera angle was lower. Perhaps put the bulbs into old-fashioned, simple fixtures with toilet-chain pull switches... <finding example pic...> http://www.electrical-online.com/images/The%20original%20light.JPG sorta l...

I'd love to see this same scene with the overhead light turned on, and some translucency in it's shade. It would really add some dynamics to the lighting. From an "artistic" (whatever that is  ) standpoint, the scene could really use a center of interest, a subject, or a story to tell. Coming ...

the Bird of Paradise plants aren't nearly full or fleshed out enough (they grow pretty thick, in terms of numbers of leaves, etc.) and because of this, its easy to tell that they're instanced. Got to thinking about this, and as I recall, they are actually arranged such that the stalks & leaves emer...

This piece is truly a significant achievement, radiance. Well done! I agree that I wasn't at all fooled that it was a CG pic right off. There are some aspects that still give it away, some already mentioned. My additions would be: the Bird of Paradise plants aren't nearly full or fleshed out enough ...

kepler, This is one of the few scenes I've seen posted that employ the combination of indoor and outdoor lighting (most here seem to use one or the other) - and you achieved a very good balance - it comes across as being twilight, giving a very good mood to the image. The scene itself is somewhat au...

very good but one critic....the material are too reflective....make it more old wooden type...what u think? Seems the toy is made of stamped metal, like tin. Looks really good to me! I love the expression on his face! Gives him such personality. I think the textures are looking really great - the s...

Lighthouse scene
So my Father-in-law painted this lighthouse scene that now hangs in our bathroom, and I got to thinking that I'd like to attempt to produce an "artistic" lighthouse scene using CG to see how it might compare. Well, I've been tinkering with the scene in blender and just last friday began to export to...
