you can lower the poly-count per hair a lot! you need only 3-4 polys per hair.
is there an option in maya to convert them as 'flat' and 'looking the camera', like in c4d?

i think you can double them (in thickness), and still preserve that nice look!

looking forward to see more!
ciao!

Hi!! A very nice and clean image, as always.. if i may say my opinion, there's something that could be better: the light is too uniform, and the contrast too low.. it took 30 seconds for me to discover that there's a step between the sofas and the kitchen. I noticed the same on the other image 'sunn...

pixie, it's always a compromise between quality and time.. sometimes there are scenes where everything is perfectly cleared, and 1 element still has noise after 30 hours rendering.. well, i prefer to find a roundabout for that object, instead of waiting so long.. The attached pic has an incredibly l...

You're right, ZomB... thank you for the good suggestion! i will surely use it!! mmmhh, are you sure it gets exported right? in your example Wuerfel.0.0 is an instance of an instance! pixie, i had a similar project to render, a couple of years ago.. i started with modellling all the glass elements, b...

no, metapixel, this is the cinema4d subforum  You can also take the base object, >duplicate it 3 times (with 'generate instances' unckecked), so you have the first lower row of objects. Then put the base obj and the copies in a group, select the group >duplicate ('generate instances' marked).....

Mhhhhh!! simply beautiful images!! And the texturing is amazing!!

The camera mapped image is underexposed by 2 stops (i guess), and i suggest you to try other camera types.. i use gold200, and i think it's one of the best, for outdoor scenes..

Have a nice day, Master BbB!

ZomB, i tried a different approach:
-scaled the scene by 100 (the cube that you see in the middle is 200x200cm)
-selected all faces, retriangulate n-gons
-aligned normals..

it works! 8)
