Aha, so that might be whats happening, I tought it was something wrong with max 2012, but when I come to think about it all the scenes that crashes has been maxigo scene's
I hope you find out whats wrong, cause I have some scenes I would like to render

Why don't you just learn to model properly? OnoSendai: Well i think most of us know thats the cause, but dcm said he has used 8 bit images for bump in other renderengines without problems, because they do some internal filtering to smooth it out.

When i click "Materials -> Upload a material" it just takes me to the front page of the forum, remember this is from here not from the material editor.
