Aha, so that might be whats happening, I tought it was something wrong with max 2012, but when I come to think about it all the scenes that crashes has been maxigo scene's

zeitmeister: Thanks, the colors is something I did in photoshop after, since it looked flat and boring before that.
What I was not satisfied about is the overall look, it looks a bit cartoony, not as photoreal as I would hope

OnoSendai: Well i think most of us know thats the cause, but dcm said he has used 8 bit images for bump in other renderengines without problems, because they do some internal filtering to smooth it out.

I think that might be the problem, i am not logged in on the website

I can access it and download materials aswell, just not upload

When i click "Materials -> Upload a material" it just takes me to the front page of the forum, remember this is from here not from the material editor.
