The guide worked great, except for the part with the ".blender" folder. On my system that was a hidden folder so I had to "show hidden files (ctrl+h)." I haven't done the launcher for indigo (how would you do a launcher for blender?) and I didn't try resuming/pausing renders.

joegiampaoli Your guide worked great, the only problem I had was with the .blender folder. I had to "show hidden files (ctrl + h)" to see it. I haven't tried making a launcher yet, but I'll try it later. Do you want me to post in your thread? [edit] I also had a problem rendering large scenes. I wo...

dougal2 I found that thread and read through it but didn't find much of what I was looking for.

joegiampaoli That link was exactly what I wanted, I think. I'll try it out later and post my results.

Indigo on Ubuntu

This has probably been asked before but the search didn't come up with good results so I'll ask anyways. I have an extra laptop sitting around not being use that I want to use to render scenes. It's running ubuntu so I guess I'll have to use wine to use indigo. I don't know anything about using wine...

Thanks grimm!

I added strings and a cord and I think I'm done unless someone sees something that could be fixed. If not I'll let it render for awhile.

Thanks. All I have left is a few modeling things like the strings, and some cords and I have one material left; You prbably can't notice it but 2 pieces on the head are untextured. I'll try darkening the white a little more too.

It looks really good, except a little to clean. There should be chipped edges and stains, etc.

The only othe gamma setting I can find is under the "system" tab? That one is at 2.2. The red part (the body) doesn't have a texture, but the neck and the head do. [edit] I did some more testing and I think this is the best one I got http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p50/doublez1/im1199237716.png I...

Where do you set the gamma? Theres 3 of them, the one under albedo is 2.3 and the other 2 (bump and exponent) are at 1. What does gamma do?

I made them 6 times wider (18 BU's, for scale the guitar is about 7 wide) and I got this, which looks better, but could still be better. Should I add another plane, make them even bigger, move them farther away, change the color? I also used your suggestion for the guitar color, next time I'm going ...

Thanks for all the replies! I tried what BbB said and it looks better, but I think I did it wrong and it still doesn't look great. Here's what I did - http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p50/doublez1/lightsetup.png The 2 objects highlighted are the emit planes I made, theyre as tall as the guitar and...

Electric guitar

I'm working on an electric guitar for my first big scene to render with indigo, but I'm having a hard time getting the lighting how I want and don't know what to do. Everything I do ends up looking like the attachment. I don't know what settings to change and where to put things to get lighting like...
