Residential Project - Photo Montage

Hello people, I've been working on this montage and need some help! Basically to keep it simple - I need more realism in the model! At first glance you can see it is a computer generated visual but what can I do to improve this aspect? I've done a bit of photoshopping - clouds over the windows, reta...

Large shopping store

Hi guys, I've just produced this render for a client in London - I have recently branched out into doing some freelance work and was hoping for some critical advice in order to elevate my skillset for future projects. I built the model in sketchup. One thing I struggle with is creating a glass effec...

Re: Creating light cones for internal shot

Hi, thanks for replying. I don't want to create a mist inside the room as that will overshadow the elements of the room. I simply want some visible light to come out of the many circular ceiling lights - similar to the image attached. If I'll get that result from your message then I'll give it a go ...

Creating light cones for internal shot

Hi guys, I am half way through rendering internal shots for a dougnut shop but cannot seem to work out how to create actual 'light streak paths' coming out of ceiling lights! Yes, light comes out but how can I actually see some kind of faded light cone ...... it would really add to the drawing I'm p...

Re: Residential block

Interesting advice for the night render, I'll have a play with the sun/sky intensity levels! Sounds like I could get some cool results. I've copied your emitter material so will try that out too..... For the night image I did make a few cubes but textured the inner walls with the same colour light e...

Re: Residential block

Thanks for the info!

No, I didn't use an environment map, just a bit of background photoshopping! However I will look into environment maps tonight. Never done one before but they look a little daunting! Also, I'll have a play with depth of field!

Cheers for commenting, appreciate your insight!

Re: Residential block

RE: Materials - sounds good, best bet is to probably create my own library of personal materials from photographs online..... Your image was at least 15 storeys high, residential job, looked like white render. conceptual images, one of which was taken from the base of the tower looking right up! You...

Re: Residential block

Cheers Pibuz! I saw pics of that tower block you did for a uni project the other day - very nice. I was hoping someone would bring up the trees issue - had a glance at onyxtree and it looks promising, will have a proper look later tonight. Thanks. The main problem I have with the daytime image is ma...

Residential block

Hello people!

I've been using indigo for a month now (with Sketchup) and getting some sweet results. However, as I am still a novice, I would appreciate some harsh feedback (where necessary). I have a morning, evening and night shot of the same building.

Look forward to your thoughts!

Noel
