Re: Indigo for Cinema 4D 4.4.10 Beta

Hi, I was randomly testing in R22 and have some smol bug reports :)

1. IPR doesn't seem to work in GPU mode: to reflect scene changes you have to click stop and then start again.
2. CPU IPR sometimes gets stuck in low res without updating to 1:1 pixels (see attachment).

Re: Nvidia realtime ray tracing technology

Just some overpriced hardware-based denoising, don't bother with it, at least not this year. Incorrect; as others noted in this thread, the main point is specialised hardware in Turing GPUs for doing BVH traversal and triangle intersection, both super useful for Indigo GPU and would probably result...

Re: Indigo Benchmark RTX 2070 OC

The Titan V benchmark was on Apple, i.e. not nearly as fast as it should be.

Still, those Turing GPUs are incredible :)

Re: Mac Pro: OpenCl rendering: max path depth

Yes, it only affects the number of indirect illumination bounces; 8 is fine for basically all scenes except with complex glass reflections and refractions.

Re: Mac Pro: OpenCl rendering: max path depth

To answer your questions, 1. It's probably better not to use the CPU, though you are welcome to do a quick test to see if it helps 2. It's the number of bounces of light to compute with the GPU, I think you could use a default value of 8 and maybe try higher if you have very complex glass scene or s...

Re: OpenCL Rendering mode multitasking

The 1050 Ti is pretty much the Pascal version of the earlier Maxwell-based 750 Ti, which is our minimum supported spec GPU. So it's already going to lag a little bit, because we're aiming for faster GPUs such as the 1070. On the plus side, those lower end GPUs can overclock like crazy, you can try t...

Thanks for checking out Indigo and making these notes! I'm sure some of it will be useful for fused, our C4D guy :)
