its the exact same scene, just from a different angle and with a glass lens placed in front of the camera to get the fisheye effect. im using 0.6test6 with bidir enable, 100 max number of consecutive rejections. i tried upping the number to 1000 but didnt let it render long enough to see if they may...

you can simulate it to a degree in postpro, but what about lenses with 220 degrees of view? also youd need a real hi res rendering to simulate it nicely in postpro, what with all the 2d distortion youre putting it through.

the only thing i could think of is the maximum number of consecutive rejections (its set at about 100 in both of them), alluding to someones experiment (i forget who) in which the number of reflections in a mirrored room depended on this number. maybe the same happens for refractions? weird though, ...

[REQ] Fisheye lens model

itd be cool to get a fisheye lens model along with the traditional flat perspective lens model for the camera. it would make it easier to make .hdr or .exr panoramas to use as HDRI backgrounds in consequent scenes. some curved perspective would also lend itself to some interesting artistic possibili...

[BUG] No caustics through glass

hey all heres a little comparison, same exact scene, the only difference being the close up one is viewed through a modelled lens. as you can see, the first one has some amazing caustic effects, while the second one seems to skip these. any ideas nick? http://www.wrongbananas.net/tsvilans/bathroomSi...

since its a physical sky model, just go outside one sunny day when you have the kind of sunlight you need and look at its position in the sky. unless youve been living inside your whole life, youll have noticed that usually around noon when the sun is high above (therefore, steep angle) and there is...

skylights would really brighten it up, also make it seem bigger. try punching some holes in the ceiling.

Sunny room

http://www.indigorenderer.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=2794&g2_serialNumber=2 indigo 0.6test4, roughly 18 hours, original size 2000x1200 testing out textures and stuff, about an hour of modelling/texturing here you can see that weird horizon glow bug, any thoughts on how...

yeah i think the sky system has been cranked way up. linear tonemapping burns waaaay out at 1.0, i have to set it to about 0.0001 to get a 'normal' looking picture. so maybe if the meshlight was cranked way up it might match the sun/sky? i dont know if the two are related, just a thought. anyhoo, 0....

User Gallery - how to?

hey, redirect me to the right section/post if this is out of place, but how does one go about creating a User Gallery on the site? or does one have to earn that right?
thanks!

yes. you can see it on the wall. in my render its a bit more prominent/visible than that. could it be the new code?

[BUG] Horizon line (bright band)

dunno if theres a post on this already, couldnt find one, but i remember reading about it earlier. in an interior rendering im doing right now, there is a glowing line across the middle, i think where the horizon should be outside. its subtle but very noticable. any solutions? i will post as soon as...

translucency isnt supported yet. if im not mistaken, i think the lamp shade is just an emitter with a low value? nice workaround.
