Re: Rooftop Pool
I don't have a more hires city EXR but I may change the depth of field to blur the background a bit. For other views I'll probably just use the sun/sky. Also, there will be lights in the pool and on the patio so the night shots should be nice.

Rooftop Pool
I've been modeling a pool based loosely on this picture. Here is what I have so far, not a very cooked render. Hmm, I can already tell my bump on the floor got messed up.

Re: Website Upgraded
So far it seems to be working.
edit: It seems the sub-sections in the Materials page do not work.

Well, it doesn't HAVE to fit with the theme, but for a shot at besting my AMAZING render it probably should.Soup wrote:Yes what Fused said sounds good, you can reuse models, as long as its not a complete scene. And it has to fit within the theme, too, of course

Re: Attack of fireflies
Even a simple flow chart would be nice. Something like: "Does your scene have large light sources?" ---> Yes ---> Use Path Tracing | | No | | Does your scene have glass? Something simple that you could see what would probably work best for your scene. Things like light types, specular materials, SSS...

Okay, that makes more sense.CTZn wrote:...
If I understood correctly, you can post as many images as you want in your WIP, but you'll have to pick the exclusive one to submit as your entry to the competition.

Re: August Competition - Modernism
Alright! I'll definitely try and get something entered in this ... though I can't guarantee (nor would I) any level of skill in my render. But I'll give it my best shot.

Re: Indigo Renderer GPU acceleration
It is how it is done in Octane and it is the cause of the memory limitation, because GPU memory is limited to 1.5GB on most powerful affordable cards (I doubt that we will have more memory on these Geforce cards in the future, because Nvidia has also to sell its very expensive Tesla and Quadro with...

Forum Suggestion
Would it be possible to implement a 'Mark Forum(s) Read' button/link here? I would like to clear out all the unread threads so I can better keep track of what I have seen and what I have not seen.
