Re: Materials in Maya

-give indigoShader viewport feedback and delete maya shader's Indigo options Oh that would be quite neat :] Check out how the other exporters do it. I just had a look at Cindigo, to make a new material you create a new 'Indigo material' which contains all Indigo material options. It's generated ico...

maya 2011, I'll use indigoshader from now on :)

I assigned blinn, and in the palette used the hidden menu thingy to select the material/object and palette closed.

Re: [REQ] Invisible Exit portal

What is requested would change the way exit portals work. I would suggest the term 'hint portals'. Harking back to Valve's Gold Source engine, they had a 'hint' material that hinted the engine for occlusion culling. A 'hint portal' would hint the rays, and be all like "Yo guys, over this way!". Im d...

Re: MtI 2.x beta 2

I assign a blinn to an object, select the object with the Indigo palette open and get this error:

Code: Select all

// Warning: Object type is not managed //
// Error: No object matches name: blinn1.emt //

Re: [REQ] Invisible Exit portal

We're having an interesting discussion on this one. Let's hope it bears fruit :D I think it's important that you guys keep discussing this kind of thing (including the relevancy of compositing) so we keep getting the hint ;) Composting is like the practical-application side of rendering, which can b...

Re: What are your non indigo hobbies?

Lol nice :D

Also, Neo0, you may have missed a tag there

I spend time playing Quake on Quakelive and OpenTTD.
I've just recently downloaded the OpenTTD code and had a look. I've never programmed C++ ever, so it's quite interesting to look at :D I managed to compile it even!

Re: Material database error ...

Thanks for the links, it is possible the pages for materials are broken because users that had posted comments on that page have been deleted (because of spam)

We'll see what we can do

Re: How do You learn creating materials ?

Playing around in the material editor is one great way to learn about the materials, for sure.
You can check out the manual page here

Downloading materials from the matdb and looking how they work is another great way.

Re: Skindigo problem - weird?

Make sure the Indigo path in SkIndigo is correct: SketchUp > Plugins > SkIndigo > Set Indigo Path.
If it still fails, you can export the scene as .pigm and then open it separately from Indigo. SketchUp > Plugins > SkIndigo
