Re: SkIndigo 3.8.6.1
This is getting super awesome...can't wait to try it in my next proper scene. Thanks for all the updates! I attached the Fur plugin input box just for reference... The top drop-down field is a choice between "box" "leaf" "arch" "linear" and "rectangular". Saving the preset settings is a useful featu...

Re: Indigo's new pure GPU rendering.
Sure glad I didn't invest in learning biased rendering
Question: Can this utilise multi-gpu cards like the gtx690. Can it use SLI/Crossfire? How many Teslas can I power from a single phase 240v socket?

Re: SkIndigo 3.6.8.1
Thanks Ono, I have it going much better now..I had some components within components screwing it up. I'll keep testing. My 2nd grass render is attached. I can easily improve on this (better material on each blade, more randomness & weeds, better distribution of buttercups etc)..but it's looking good...

Re: SkIndigo 3.6.8.1
My first attempt is attached to this post - densities are about 2000 and 4000 for the 2 types of grass. I've added a curved surface instead of a flat one, and added two more types of scattered object (total is now 4). I get this error: An error occurred while SkIndigo was exporting the scene. Please...

Re: SkIndigo 3.6.8.1
I'm working through it - really looking forward to adding grass to my landscape models... and my monkeys will remain hairless no longer! So, the editor is OK...basic. Maybe some units for density, some "OK" buttons would make it nicer. I created a scene with a flat ground plane (made into a componen...
Re: Wishlist
One more idea occurred to me: Can Indigo be made to scatter objects on a surface? eg blades of grass? Right now I use Sketchup's "Fur" plugin to scatter simple line components which swap out to little clumps of grass - but its a bit haphazard (stray clumps) and still generates 10,000s of components...
Re: Wishlist
+1 for the underlay back plate. The 'dummy' textures you refer to - surely this is already a feature? I always use low res place holder textures within sketchup, and then either use the LinkedIGM material, or just change the albedo slot from sketchup to texture and choose the high res texture to re...
Re: Wishlist
Just off the top of my head: (some of these are skindigo, some are indigo render) *dummy objects that can swap with a random dummy from a set - eg, Tree_dummyX will swap with either Tree_1, Tree_2, Tree_3, etc. In this way, I could use one dummy component in Sketchup, but know that I will have at le...

Re: Help With Rendering Basic Knowledge
You may not get it running 'fast' but the goal is get it down to something like 8 hours - then it can run overnight while you sleep. Complex items are things like glass and chrome (specular materials). Detailed geometry doesn't worry indigo much at all. If you have glass showers, mirrors etc in the ...
