Hmm I got weird, but not random crashes. I got one scene where Indigo quits at warm up process at a curvature_threshold 0.02, but if I use 0.01, which leads to far more triangles at subdivison progress, it starts perfectly.

Think so too, concrete walls aren't showing such big areas where displacement would be neccessary. But infact you're getting a slowdown due to subdivisions where they aren't neccessary. So I would stick to bumpmapping as proposed before.

Can't speak for him but the system I experienced this problem on is a x64 system running on Vista Ultimate x64. ;)

I hardly suggest you to try to reduce the polycount of your meshlights. I experienced these problems with my Poolhousescene. I had about 32 polys each emitter (half a sphere). After reducing them to just 1 square each the scene rendered perfectly for hours and hours.

Looks like a model-problem for me, but somehow, they look pretty damn nice I have to admit. Like a glitter-effect or something.

Here you go, not exactly what you wanted, but had no time to test more. You'll see - it's just about the arangement of the light-planes, because it's of course the enviroment you see in the reflection.

Nothing special about it I guess. Just a studio-setup with a simple ligh-plane ligting the scene. Just try tu put a plane as a mesh-light at a position behind your camera and with a nice angle to your object and you should get similar results.
