Re: Liquids Test Thread
forgot the submit the scene file as well... Just crank up the fluid sim resolution to the max, bake it, search a nice frame (I like frame 20), apply the fluid modifier and scale the resulting mesh a little to get the intersections right. Perhaps some smoothing might be necessary. One thing: the scen...

Re: Liquids Test Thread
Hey CTZn, thanks for your comment. I could need some help with indigo subdivision, cause it doesn't work like i want it to: Fluid sim already gives me a fairly highres mesh, I can use a resolution of about 200. So if I use subdivision surfaces, it actually "enhances" the imperfections of the mesh. T...

Re: Liquids Test Thread
Whoaaa, this is gonna be exciting! :D Thanks guys! I had to be at my job this morning at 6am, so competition starts when I'm back home tonight. @Doug: I can't wait for what you are gonna produce out of 8megs if RAM... @Godzilla: Nice, a new system, if this means even less restrictions to your ...

Re: Liquids Test Thread
@ Whaat: Thanks! I'll share the .blend tomorrow, I'm at another computer right now. The liquid is intersecting the glass properly, but the precedence of the orange juices was wrong indeed!! And I wondered why it looks so bad... So I'll share the .blend tomorrow with the liquid as a mesh...

Re: Liquids Test Thread
OJ is still not clear, looking dirty... I am @18600ssp at the moment.
I also tried pixies merlot from the matDb on the laptop. Looks ok to me, but perhaps a little bit more red component? It is also not finished yet, but hey, this is supposed to be a "test"-thread!
Gonna go to the beach now...

Re: Liquids Test Thread
Ok here we go. I used whaat's second OJ mat, cause it seems to be more "fleshy". Not sure if anybody gets what I mean... I tried to make a more dynamic testscene, and then it happened: violet artifacts in 2.0.9!!! Where does this pink come from? Ono I thougt that was just an issue with 1.1.18... :( ...

Re: Liquids Test Thread
HAHA, is this an OJ competition?! AWESOME thread! Gonna post some test renders too this weekend :P What about presets in indigo for some common sss-mats? they are hard to get into, hard to get right, and testrenders just take so damn looooooooong.... @neo0: scale the liquid just a little bit bigger,...

Re: The Renderer's Rings
Got your point. So, does indigo work with multiple uv sets? In this case just select the inner faces around the area you want to texture, go to side view, select "cylinder from view". In blender it is easy to add more than one uv set to any mesh (edit menue). Alternatively: Try projection painting!!...

Re: The Renderer's Rings
wait... this looks a lot more rectangular to me. It is "cylinder from view" from the uv-menue, you'll just need a tileable texture then...
Brilliant work btw!

Re: The Renderer's Rings
And what is so wrong about this one? Distortion can be removed quite easily via proportional editing!
