Re: IndigoBench - Indigo CPU and GPU benchmark

Slower rendering with increased model and material complexity is sort of expected from any renderer. :) Regarding build time, it's afaik the number of material types in your scenes that matter the most - Indigo has to compile the material types. Regarding what OscarJ stated about build and renderin...

Re: IndigoBench - Indigo CPU and GPU benchmark

I think, in essence, it's partly due to longer build time, but also due to short passes not being suitable for many GPUs. The GPUs need to sync and sometimes wait for each other at the end of every pass, and can really start to stretch their legs only when the passes are longer. The devs are well a...

Re: IndigoBench - Indigo CPU and GPU benchmark

Hi, I ran 2 different setups on my rig... Thanks! Tony D. unbelievable what's the hell!! what's the system specification? Hello, Win7 64 on Asrock X79 Extreme 11. Titan X on mobo. Use a pair of Amfeltec splitters for the Titan Z arrangement, and USB Risers for the additional 2 Titan X arrangement. ...

Re: IndigoBench - Indigo CPU and GPU benchmark

Hi, I ran 2 different setups on my rig and got almost matching scores: Titan Z12.jpg Titan Xs.jpg If my strategy is to render a single image with high samples at high res, I use the 13 card setup, as over time/passes it generates the highest score. Although it takes longer at building OpenCL scenes ...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.45 Beta Release

Well...maybe just a measured color chart with on/off setting so you can post correct it with defined data. Hi Originalplan - I'm running with this idea of 'defined data'. If we could import/export 'Imaging Profiles' and import them into another rendering session, this would be a nifty feature as we...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.45 Beta Release

Great idea, Oscar!
Okay we have 2 Requests/ideas:

(1) Individual Hue/Sat controls for textures
(2) Simplified Hue/Sat controls for entire render in 'Imaging'

These combined would really add to the powerful art creation tools of Indigo!

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.45 Beta Release

You can tint the image with white balance. That's a potent tinting mechanism right there! Adds a whole level of image saturation along with the color. My point of view is that Indigo shouldn't try to be something it's not (photo/video editor). My point of view is that for an animation, it's almost ...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.45 Beta Release

A more basic idea... In Imaging, have a (1) Saturation and (2) Hue/Tint slider to color correct rendered images. I know you can use the Color Curves graph but it feels a little indirect and less efficient than a true slider would be. For me, it's kind of a haphazard trial and error guessing game som...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.45 Beta Release

I was playing with 'Halt Time' instead of 'Halt SPP'... I was wondering if 'Halt Time' would 'set' the tile production time window to = target time, but like 'Halt SPP' it acts just as the halt point for the process time in its entirety, meaning you either catch a 'Next Image Update' window or you d...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.45 Beta Release

Hello! Just want to add how great this latest update was! Can anyone please clarify something for me, when rendering an image sequence... If I set a target sample # per image, it seems the rendering per-image does not stop when that sample # is reached? Rather it seems like it keeps going until (1) ...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.44 Beta Release

Hello! Figured I'd take time to write further on experiences with the render engine. This is not a complaint or fix-request, and I recognize build is in progress. Just identifying where opportunities for further optimization exist. A) Here is a current list of issues I found on some scenes that occu...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.44 Beta Release

Hello! Great, I tried out the Override settings and it worked, a very nifty tool indeed :D In my case I ran a sequence and checked both boxes for OpenCL, and I was wondering what the one on the left and right meant. Do you have to check each box, do they each represent/do something different? One id...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.43 Beta Release

On multi GPU, I can share my general experience with OpenCL. I have a rig with 1 Titan X and 6 Titan Z (I use Amfeltec clusters), which equates to 13 GPU. -My Titan X (12GB VRam) is attached at 16x PCI via motherboard, and -each of the 12 Z-core (6GB Vram) is attached at 1x PCI via splitters. In usi...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.43 Beta Release

Hello! Just wanted to say that there is noticeable progress on the OpenCL materials conversion/normals mapping front. I am seeing black artifacting on hair and lashes, but it looks more reduced with each update release. Sometimes I can add a Normals map which will remove the black boxiness, other ti...
